When Does AdSense Pay? The Google Payment Cycle Explained

AdSense, AdMob and YouTube (through AdSense for YouTube) all follow the same basic monthly cycle. Here’s how it works.

1. During the month: estimated earnings

The figures you see day to day are estimates. They can change slightly as Google removes invalid traffic and reconciles advertiser billing.

2. Early next month: earnings are finalised

In the first days of the following month, Google finalises last month’s earnings and adds them to your balance on the Payments page. The finalised amount can be a little different from the estimate.

3. Around the 21st: payment is issued

If your balance has reached the payment threshold and there are no holds on your account, Google issues the payment around the 21st of the month. Depending on your bank and payment method, it can take several days to arrive.

Payment thresholds

The standard threshold is US$100, or a set equivalent in your local currency. If your balance is below the threshold, it rolls over to the next month until you reach it. You can see your exact threshold in your Payments settings.

Common reasons a payment is held

Payment method not set up or not verified.
Address (PIN) verification not completed.
Tax information missing — required for most accounts, including US tax info for non-US creators earning from US viewers.
Identity verification outstanding.
A manual payment hold you set yourself.
